This bill would have expanded Maine’s energy building standards to homes where the owner is involved in the construction of the house. The bill was amended in committee to allow a continued exemption for houses that are actually physically built by the owner. The bill was passed by the Legislature, but vetoed by the Governor. The Legislature failed to override the veto.
